This weekend just gone i was running the Canonteign Falls Abseil for Childrens Hospice South West. The event was a huge success with the both days running and making over £10,000 for charity and that figure is still raising as money comes in.

Marina Leadbetter, Events Organiser at CHSW, says, “Mountain Vision put on yet another fantastic abseil for us at England’s highest waterfall – Canonteign Falls. Dave’s team were brilliant, and the event ran extremely smoothly from start to finish with 100% smiley abseiler faces coming back to me when they came to pick up their certificates afterwards. Every single member of the Mountain Vision team were very professional and put each one of our participants at ease, creating personal and memorable experiences for our very happy abseilers! Thank you Dave, and see you next year.”

Partnering up to help raise money for charity

Canonteign Falls  is on the edge of Devon and boasts England’s highest waterfall at 220 ft high. In order to run an abseil event like this you need a lot of kit, great instructors and lots of experience, all of which my team delivered perfectly.

This charity abseil was run by our sister company please visit that site for information on other activities and events that we offer.

Canonteign Falls Charity Abseil

The Saturday was sold out and we had 48 people going down the abseil and on Sunday we had around 25. The participants arrived around an 1 hour before their time slot and got changed into a wet suit and harnessed up. They then were given 45 minutes of abseil coaching and what to do and how to do it. They then were taken to the top of the abseil were i sent them off with a lot of fun, thanks to being able to dam the flow with a large bucket and releasing it sending a tidal wave over the abseilier. Check out some of our photos from the event and get in touch for your abseil event.
